In response to those who attack cupping therapy and claim that it is backwardness, reactionary and ignorance; For the reason that it is a treatment stipulated in Islam, although it has existed for thousands of years and in all civilizations, and no one attacked it, Professor Dr. “Ali Muhammad Mutawa,” Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Al-Azhar University and professor of radiology and oncology says: Cupping was written and widespread in Egypt until the era of close.
Mutawa explained that it has a scientific basis, which is that the internal organs share with certain parts of the human skin the place where the nerves feeding them enter the spinal cord, and according to this participation, any stimulation of the skin in an area of the body affects the internal organs corresponding to this part of the skin.
Pointing out that this same theory on the basis of which Chinese needles are used in the treatment of diseases (and no one attacked them), and by knowing the maps of the distribution of nerves on the skin and on the internal viscera, it is possible to know the parts of the skin in which cupping works to obtain the desired effect.
The Dean of Al-Azhar Medicine asked: What is the problem with that, and cupping is of two types: preventive and curative? As for preventive measures, it is well-known and scientifically proven that the benefit of donating blood is for the donor, and he donates pure venous blood in his body, so how about the blood of cupping, which is the blood collected in the tissues?!
He added that it has been scientifically proven that cupping stimulates blood circulation and even increases the body’s immunity. He asserted by saying that “therapeutic cupping has mentioned some scientific research specialized in this, and therefore the recent entry of cupping into the medical field, and its achievement of such many successes is one of the miracles of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. of patients of this age.
Pointing out that “the miracle appears more when we know that modern medicine has proven that cupping has no side effects such as cauterization with fire and others, and therefore the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, preferred it.”
He continued that the saying of the plaintiffs: that there is no recognized scientific research that proves that cupping is a cure, and there is no recognized scientific journal in the world that has adopted cupping as a treatment, is a false statement and an apparent fraud, intended to confuse the students of the truth, and to obfuscate the prophetic Sunnah that the whole world has proven its usefulness and importance “.
